Shwa Shwa Theatre (Sammy Moynihan and Marlene Radice)  is thrilled to announce its electrifying debut production, "The Cut" by Mark Ravenhill. This provocative play immerses audiences in a dystopian society where a mysterious procedure, known only as "the cut," promises salvation at a significant moral cost. The play explores themes of power, control, and the ethical compromises individuals and societies are willing to make for a sense of security and order. As the narrative unfolds, characters grapple with their roles in a regime that uses "the cut" to maintain dominance, raising questions about personal responsibility and collective morality. The production features an all-female cast, a daring decision that infuses Ravenhill's narrative with a fresh and compelling perspective. The play features an innovative sound design by Marlene Radice.

Founded by Canberra entrepreneurs Sammy Moynihan and Marlene Radice, Shwa Shwa Theatre is dedicated to creating bold, political theatre inspired by Ancient Greek traditions and the philosophies of Augusto Boal. The founding of this company is a natural extension of their decade-long collaborative artistic relationship.
