RHINOCEROS REIMAGINED

Over a week in December 2020 I collaborated with professional performers and local director Chenoeh Miller to create a director's methodology that combines applied theatre techniques with physical theatre pedagogy. The aim was to create the groundwork for a radical reimagining of Ionesco's play Rhinoceros, focusing particularly on themes around conformity.

We spent a lot of time building the ensemble and crafting a clear theatrical vocabulary for the work. I look forward to continuing work on the piece and eventually presenting the work to audiences.

The Creative Development was supported by ArtsACT and Ainslie+Gorman Arts Centres.

Performers: Milly Cooper, Louise Ellery, Jolene Misfud, Sian Jackson, Carolyn Eccles and Cole Hilder
